Over the last few weeks, Neil O’Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston has been visiting schools in the constituency. Neil is very active in the constituency and often visits local schools to speak to the students to explain what an MP does, and talk about how our democracy works.
Neil said: “Over the last few weeks I have been at South Kilworth and Brookside primaries, and Manor and Welland Park secondary schools.
I was quizzed by the School Council at South Kilworth. They asked great questions! The children had also grown a giantic pumpkin!
At Brookside I was treated to year 3's production of the Diwali story, complete with epic battle scenes - some of the pupils are in traditional dress for Diwali below. They are now building up for the Nativity.
At Manor High School, Oadby I toured around the school and at Welland Park Academy I was fielding questions from year 10 - ranging from the future of Europe to science policy to housing. I was really impressed with their knowledge and confidence. ”
