Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, visited Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough on Friday 11th February 2022.
During the visit, Neil met a number of students who were planting trees, and also saw the recently completed all-weather outdoor hockey pitch.
Neil said, "The new hockey pitch looks great, and I've no doubt it will go on to become a real asset not only to the students of Robert Smyth but also the wider community as it is also the home of Market Harborough Hockey Club. I was delighted to support the bid when initially approached by Dan Cleary, Robert Smyth Principal, and would like to pay tribute to him and all involved in turning that vision into a reality.
I'd also like to thank all students and volunteers involved in the tree planting efforts at the school; it was great to see so many young people involved and learning more about the benefits trees can have to the environment."
