Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston, visited the second phase of the new emergency department at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Friday 13th July 2018.
The new £48m unit was officially opened earlier this year by Princess Anne, and is now fully operational and used by hundreds of patients a day.
Neil said, "A lot of hard work has gone into the new emergency department, so it was excellent to see the new facilities. I am grateful to UHL Chairman Karamjit Singh for kindly showing me around, and to healthcare professionals who also joined us to explain their respective areas.
Leicester Royal Infirmary has one of the busiest emergency wards in the country, and this new facility will hopefully go a long way towards improving the patient flow and experience."
