Neil O’Brien, MP for Harborough, has backed a bid submitted by Leicestershire County Council (LCC) for funds to enable the A6 Market Harborough bypass to be resurfaced.
The bid by LCC will be made to the Department for Transport (DfT) for approximately £2.2 million to carry out a complete resurface of the road around Market Harborough.
Neil said, “I know from my constituents how important this bypass is, and I am keen to ensure we secure funds to enable its resurfacing. The road was built back in 1992 and remains heavily used to this day, so it’s very much due for these improvements.
I look forward to continuing to work together with LCC as the local highways authority and DfT to make the case for this much-needed investment.”
