The 2021 Christmas Card competition has been won by a local Market Harborough pupil, 11-year-old Isabella Longfield of Meadowdale Primary School, Market Harborough.
The Competition was entered by primary schools across Harborough, Oadby and Wigston, which saw the winning design featured on the front of the card sent by local MP, Neil O’Brien, and will also feature in his Christmas social media posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Runner-ups came from:
Poppy Morgan, age 9, Fleckney Primary School
Joshua Sharman, age 12, Wigston Academy
Sam Steptoe, age 7, St. Cuthbert’s Primary School, Great Glen
Neil said, “We had some fantastic entries so it was really difficult to pick a winner here, but Isabella’s entry was incredibly impressive. I know it’s been a challenging year for so many schools, teachers and students across the constituency, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for all they have done over the pandemic, and for taking part in the competition to once again showcase the superb drawing skills of their students.
We unfortunately weren’t able to hold the competition last year due to the pandemic, so it’s extra special this year and we’re already looking forward to receiving the entries next year.”
Isabella was presented with a certificate and House of Commons Chocolate box by Neil O’Brien MP, to congratulate her for winning the competition this year, alongside Deputy Headteacher, Matt Hough.
