Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough has praised community groups, charities and voluntary organisations across Fleckney for their work.
Neil convened a meeting at Fleckney Village Hall, alongside local Councillors Stephen Bilbie and Charmain Wood to hear more about the community work underway across Fleckney.
The meeting was attended by a large number of representatives on behalf of local sports, community and faith groups.
Neil said, "It's great to see how much is happening across the village - there really is something for everyone. Ranging from theatre and dance groups to sports and to services available from local community assets such as the library, it was incredibly interesting to hear more about what is going on.
One of the things we discussed was how organisations could tap into community funding that will soon become available, for which Harborough District Council have agreed to convene a specific follow-up meeting.
If any local community groups would like to attend this, please email me so I can put you in touch with the Officers at the Council. I'd like to thank all who attended this meeting for all they do to make Fleckney the wonderful place to live that it is - your dedication, commitment and public service is at the heart of this."
