Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby & Wigston, has paid tribute to the owners of W H Cox Grocers in Wigston. Having been in Wigston since 1888, the family-owned businesses is now closing, after serving the community for an incredible 134 years.
Neil said, "It was a bittersweet moment, as the family have been a key part of Wigston for such a long time, and will be missed greatly by their customers and all who knew them. They've been there for over 130 years and served generations of the same families, which is quite remarkable.
I've received messages and emails from a number of constituents about Cox's, which speaks volumes about the high regard in which they are held by so many people. I'd like to thank the family for their decades of service to Wigston and wish them all the very best for the future, they will be missed."
