Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston spoke in the debate for the Stalking Protection Bill, on Friday 19th January 2018.
The Bill, if successful in passing through Parliament, would introduce new legislation to protect people against stalkers.
Neil O'Brien said: "This was an important debate, and I was pleased to be able to contribute to it. The tragic case of Alice Ruggles, who was originally from Tur Langton was very much at the forefront of my mind whilst speaking.
Having met with Alice's family and heard their experience first hand, I fully support Sarah Wollaston's Bill on this important matter, and was pleased to see this pass the second reading in the Commons."
