On Wednesday 17th January 2018, Neil O'Brien MP attended a loneliness reception at Number 10 Downing Street. Neil was accompanied by Rohini Corfield, of Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL).
The reception was hosted by the Prime minister, in response to the Jox Cox Commission on loneliness and outlined how the Government would respond to the recommendations made within the report.
Neil O'Brien said: "It was a pleasure to be accompanied by Rohini Corfield of VASL; an organisation that do great work in the constituency.
Loneliness is something that can impact upon anyone, regardless of age, background or ethnicity and it is important that we work together to look at how we can tackle it.
I will be hosting a loneliness meeting in Market Harborough on the 26th January 2018, which includes attendees from various local and national organisations - so we can explore how best to all work together on this important issue."
