Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, was invited to observe a training session held by Fleckney Village Cricket Club to learn more about the team and their plans for the future, along with local Cllrs Stephen Bilbie and Charmain Wood.
Neil said, "It was great to attend and speak to some of the players about the club, and their ambitious plans. They had a wide range of players from across the age spectrum which was really encouraging to see.
Clubs like this play a hugely important role in bringing communities together and helping to tackle loneliness. I'd like to pay tribute to all they do across the community, especially with their programmes to encourage youngsters to play - and look forward to hopefully attending a game in the near future."
