Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston addressed a loneliness summit in Leicester, jointly organised by the University of Leicester and Leicestershire County Council.
The summit 'tackling loneliness together' brought together a wide range of attendees from various public sector bodies as well as charities and community groups from across the City and County.
Neil said, "It was really encouraging to see so many people and representatives of different organisations getting together, to look at how they could all work together to tackle loneliness.
Loneliness is something that can affect people of all ages and backgrounds - it doesn't discriminate which is why we need a wide range of stakeholders to work together to address it."
