Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston assisted with co-chairing a loneliness meeting in Parliament, alongside Rachel Reeves MP.
The meeting was attended by Loneliness Minister Tracey Crouch MP, and representatives from various organisations such as the British Red Cross and the Jo Cox Loneliness Commission.
Neil said, "It was great to hear from the Minister about the initial work she has already carried out since being appointed to this important position.
There was a strong recognition amongst attendees that having a Minister dedicated to tackling loneliness, was a big positive step forward. I look forward to working further with the Minister and other organisations in attendance on the day, to tackle the scourge of loneliness."
